Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

1. What we do with your information

We want to be exact, because “sell” and “share” have specific statutory meanings that are broader than their everyday ones.

• We do not sell your personal information for money to data brokers, list vendors, or marketing aggregators.
• We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising , the specific CPRA meaning of “share.” We run no advertising pixels and no ad-network cookies on this site.
• We do disclose it to security contractors. When you submit a quote request, it goes to a limited number of licensed, insured contractors so they can price your building, and they pay us for that introduction.

That last point is the one worth sitting with. We consider it a disclosure to a service provider for the purpose you requested, not a sale, because you asked to be quoted, and quoting requires the quoter to have your details. But money does change hands downstream of your information, some state definitions of “sale” are written broadly enough to reach that, and we would rather over-disclose than argue the point later. So we honor opt-out requests regardless of the label, and you do not need to establish that a sale occurred to make one.

2. What opting out does

If you opt out, we stop disclosing your personal information to contractors. If you have a request in flight, understand the trade-off: this stops the quotes. A contractor who cannot be given your details cannot price your building.

Opting out does not delete what we hold. See our Privacy Policy for the deletion right, and note that we retain consent records for five years for the legal reasons described there. It also does not reach contractors who already received your request; we will notify them of your opt-out and tell you who they were so you can contact them directly.

3. Your rights

Depending on your state, and this covers California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and a growing list of others, you have some or all of these rights:

• Know. What personal information we collected, where it came from, why, and who received it.
• Access. A copy, in a portable format.
• Delete. Subject to legal retention obligations.
• Correct. Fix inaccurate information.
• Opt out of sale or sharing.
• Limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect any, so there is nothing to limit.
• Non-discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you differently, or give you a lesser experience for exercising any of these rights.

4. How to submit a request

Email privacy@commercialsecurityquotes.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell us which right you are exercising. Include the email address or phone number you used on the quote form so we can find your record.

You may also write to us at the postal address in section 8.

Timing: we confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days. If we need more time we will tell you why and take no more than a further 45 days.

Verification: we will ask you to confirm details of the request you submitted, typically the ZIP code and approximate date. We only use what you give us for verification to verify you. For deletion requests we will ask you to confirm once more before we act, because deletion cannot be undone.

5. Authorized agents

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission signed by you, or a valid power of attorney. We may still contact you directly to confirm.

6. Appeals

If we decline your request, our response will say why. Residents of states with a statutory appeal right, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others, may appeal by replying to that response with the word “Appeal.” We will review and answer in writing within 45 days. If we deny the appeal, we will give you a method to contact your state attorney general.

7. Opt-out preference signals

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) where it applies. Because this site runs no advertising or analytics trackers, a GPC signal has nothing to act on at the browser level. It does not and cannot reach a quote request you deliberately submit. To opt out of disclosure to contractors, use section 4.
